Senior appointments also made at PNC, Fulton Bank, Coastal Community Bank and 1st Security Bank

New CEOs for Farmers and Merchants, HomeTrust Banks

Farmers and Merchants Bank — The Maryland-based bank has named Gary Harris as its new president and CEO. He will replace James Bosley Jr, who announced his retirement in January.

Harris joined Farmers and Merchants in 2008 as vice president of commercial banking and became chief lending officer last year. He will become president from July 1 and will succeed Bosley as CEO on January 1, 2023.

Board chairman Bruce Schindler said: “After a thorough search, the board is very confident in its selection of Gary Harris as our next president. Mr Harris has demonstrated strong leadership qualities along with being a top producer for the bank for many years. The board looks forward to working with him.”

HomeTrust Bank Hunter Westbrook will become chief executive officer of HomeTrust Bank’s parent company HomeTrust Bancshares from September 1. He will take over from Dana Stonestreet, who will become executive chairman.

The appointment is part of the bank’s leadership succession plan set up by Stonestreet. Westbrook joined the bank in 2012 as chief banking officer and became chief operating officer in 2018. He was named CEO of the bank in September last year.

Stonestreet has worked for HomeTrust for 33 years and has been chairman and CEO since 2013.

“Hunter’s commercial banking expertise, vision for strategic growth and proactive leadership have been integral in the transformation of HomeTrust into a leading regional commercial bank,” said Stonestreet. “The future is bright for HomeTrust employees, customers, communities, and shareholders under Hunter’s leadership.”

PNC Financial Services — Head of retail banking and chief customer officer Karen Larrimer is to retire at the end of this year. From July 1, she will begin transitioning out of her retail banking role, with her responsibilities passing to deputy head of retail banking Alex Overstrom, who is also PNC’s head of small business banking.

Larrimer has led PNC’s retail banking business since July 2016 and has been chief customer officer since 2014. She previously held several executive positions at PNC and has also worked at EY and Mellon Bank.

Overstrom joined PNC nearly eight years ago and has held a variety of roles including head of merchant services, chief operating officer of corporate and institutional banking and asset management, and head of aviation finance.

Fulton Bank — Pennsylvania’s Fulton Bank has appointed Joel Barnett as director of commercial affinity banking, a new position designed to build relationships with businesses owned by people of color, women, and veterans. Barnett has more than 30 years of experience in banking, including in a variety of executive roles.

Fulton’s director of fair and responsible banking William Glover said the new role was “focused on ensuring that we are reaching out to and meeting the needs of affinity businesses in our communities”.

Coastal Community Bank Jeff Ketelhut has been named executive vice president and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) officer for the Washington-based bank. He is responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing Coastal’s BSA compliance program and coordinating with state and federal regulators.

Ketelhut was previously vice president of compliance for MetaBank, and before that was a national bank examiner for the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.

1st Security Bank — Washington-based 1st Security Bank has appointed Susan Dumontet as director of finance. She joins from Columbia Bank where she worked for three years in its corporate risk and finance teams.

Dumontet has also held a variety of positions in the Washington State Department of Financial Institutions Division of Banks, including examiner, case manager, and chief of supervision.

Arvest BankJon Mattingly has been named executive director of consumer lending at Arvest Bank. Beginning his role on June 1, Mattingly will be responsible for the bank’s consumer lending business across the four states in which it operates.

Mattingly has more than 17 years of experience in the financial services industry, including six at Arvest, where he was most recently director of financial planning and analysis.

Leader Bank — Arlington, Massachusetts-based Leader Bank has hired four staff from Century Bank, following its closure. The quartet have joined Leader’s business and government banking team.

Susan Delahunt and Anna Gorska have joined as vice presidents and directors
of government banking. Delahunt has 16 years of experience in cash management and government banking, while Gorska was most recently Century’s senior vice president
of government banking during a 17-year career with the bank. Renee LeMoure joins as an assistant vice president and lockbox client specialist, while John Lavallee will be Leader Bank’s senior lockbox specialist.

ServisFirst Bank — Alabama-based ServisFirst Bank has appointed Angel Stinson to chief credit officer for the bank’s Huntsville and North Alabama region. She has worked for ServisFirst since 2018 and has 25 years of experience in banking and financial services.
