Citizens Bank of Tennessee Expands its Employee Communications Capability

Founded in 1934, Citizens Bank in Tennessee is marking its 85th year in business. A Preferred Lender with the U.S. Small Business Administration, the bank prides itself on providing enhanced financial services and personalized service to its customers throughout East Tennessee.

The bank has decided to take a major step in centralizing its employee engagement through an extended partnership. A traditional regional bank with regional brand recognition, it is noteworthy that they have decided that electronic communication is crucial not only for client interaction, but also for employee communication.

Banc Intranets, a provider of secure, web-based enterprise content management solutions for financial institutions, announced that Citizens Bank  implemented its BancWorks®employee intranet to create a centralized point of access for all bank communications, policies, documents, procedures and other internal resources designed to drive employee engagement.  The intiative is designed to strengthen Citizens Bank’s focus on electronic communication.  Citizens Bank, having utilized Banc Intranets’ DirectorsLink®   board portal to go completely paperless in board meetings, elected to also utilize  BancWorks to ensure employees have quick and easy access to internal communications and materials. The bank has fourteen locations throughout East Tennessee.

Having been implemented across its 14 bank locations, the bank indicated the intranet’s employee directory, robust ticketing system and overall customizability as critical factors in its decision. Despite the Bank being a regional player Citizens wanted to extend employees’ ability to connect when based in different locations and engage them with the bank’s specific mission and culture.

“All banks strive to communicate timely, consistent bank-wide messages with their employees, whether those are marketing or IT updates,” said Aaron Tyler, SVP of Digital Channels and Information Security Officer for Citizens Bank. “With BancWorks, we are able to establish a seamless system for updating employees on bank news and announcements which aids in providing the best service possible to our customers.”

“Intranets are critical to helping banks redefine how they communicate and engage with employees,” said Mark Anderson, CEO of Bank Intranets. “We are excited to expand our relationship with Citizens Bank and help them enhance how their employees work with customers across all of its branches.”
