Markets Are Expecting Interest Rate Cut by Federal Reserve Next Week

The Federal Reserve is expected to cut interest rates at its committee meeting scheduled for next week, with the markets expecting an 89% likelihood of a cut on Tuesday.

The projection of an interest rate cut has gained momentum over the past several weeks.

The United States Treasury yields continued lower as 10-year treasury yields were down to 4.08%.

Unemployment data will also come out this week, which may impact the Federal Reserve’s decision.

Initial consumer reports from this past weekend’s holiday shopping seem to be optimistic that the consumer will be resilient over Christmas despite negative reports recently on consumer sentiment.
