SVB Private Bank Appoints Head of Relationship Management; National Cooperative Bank Names Acting CEO

SVB Private Bank has hired Rohit Mehrotra from J.P. Morgan Private Bank where he was most recently head of the firm’s Central and South Jersey region. He was also the national lead for the bank’s life sciences and healthcare practices where he led 60 private bankers across the US.

As head of relationship management at SVB Private Bank, Mehrotra will lead a team of advisors to deliver wealth advice to clients, as well as form client service practices across the private bank and SVB’s other businesses.

Mehrotra will report to John Longley, head of the private bank, wealth, trust and wine group.

Washington-headquartered National Cooperative Bank has named Casey Fannon as acting chief executive officer.

Fannon replaces Chuck Snyder, NCB’s former CEO who suddenly passed following 29 years at the firm.

Since joining NCB in 1996, Fannon had held the role of president since March 2020. He worked on new product and market development, commercial real estate, capital markets and managed NCB’s loan and deposit production across the bank’s customer segments.

Toronto, Canada-headquartered firm, Manulife Financial Corporation, has appointed May Tan to its board of directors, effective December 1, 2021.

Tan has held a number of senior roles at Standard Chartered Bank including the position of chief executive officer at SCB Hong Kong.

John Cassaday, chair of the board of directors at Manulife, said: "May's extensive leadership experience in financial services and her deep knowledge of the industry in Asia will be extremely valuable in supporting the effective oversight of Manulife's strategy and operations, including our growth ambitions in Asia.”

Tan joins the Manulife board’s management resources and compensation committee and risk committee.

First Bank & Trust Company has announced the promotion of Julie Eades to assistant vice president in Bristol, Tennessee.

Eades will be based at the bank’s newly opened location at the Pinnacle in Bristol, Tennessee where she will assist clients with investment solutions, annuities, rollovers, and life insurance.
